Question by Skeeter Bug: My Face Just Won’t Clear Up. Help?
Okay, so I am fourteen, obviously in the teen hormonal period (lol). My face probably first started getting breakouts in maybe… the summer before seventh grade? (Age 12, going on 13 I think) I used to always have it plastered in my head that if I cleaned my face twice a day, then I wouldn’t get acne.
My older sisters always had acne too (both stopped by going on the pill, because of ‘too heavy flowage’ haha, it runs in the family so I bet I will too later in HS) but until then I need some help. My sister that’s 2 years older than me is lucky because she doesn’t wash her face consistently and doesn’t have very much acne AT ALL.
Products I’ve used: Purpose, Velocity, Purpose (again), Biore Ice Cleanser, Dermalogica Clean Start. I have oily skin, but clean my face twice a day, if I go to a friends house, I bring pads. I haven’t forgotten to wash it in like… a year maybe? But why do I still have it! Any tips or tricks?
PS: I have those bumps on my forehead, bumps around the bridge of my nose, clear on the cheeks, and acne around my mouth. I know that basically spells out Combo skin, but I’ve been using masks and everything and I’m sick of it! I think some might be about my pillow case, (side sleeper) but I started sleeping on my back. I drink water (I track my meals and water on MyNetDiary) and am in shape. I’m vegetarian, but that has nothing to do with it because it hasn’t changed my face since I did it. Also, my light foundation isn’t the problem, because I went with out it and nothing changed.
Oh, and none of that common advice “Drink water, clean twice a day, Don’t touch your face, no makeup” Because I do 1,2,3, and am aware of 4, but it’s not the problem. I NEVER SLEEP IN MY MAKEUP! And don’t wear it except for school and outtings.

No one I asked recommended proactive nor liked it, especially my sisters. I’m only allergic to dust mites, I didn’t recently get 60 needles in my back for nothing.

Perhaps try proavtive , and a toner so thata so that no scars come .

What kinda face would you say need makeup and what kinda face don’t because my friends and i all wear makeup but this girl in our class, she was asking for makeup tips and my friends were like “you don’t need makeup.” I also heard some senior girls saying the same to this particular girl. I don’t get it, girls wear makeup thats what we do. So what type of face don’t need makeup?

Question by Hello: Face Make-Up tips for a teenage girl?
Normally I just put on some liquid makeup, nothing fancy. Sometimes I might put on some Neutrogena mineral powder to give my skin a semi “nice” finish, even though it still doesn’t have the effect I hope for. I wear eye liner too, and I already know all about eye makeup. I just need help with my facial makeup. I have a minor and ongoing case of acne that needs to be covered up for school (in my opinion), and freckles that stand out easily I wish I did not have. I always just wear liquid makeup and powder to school, but I always read in magazines such as Seventeen that you are supposed to wear a base, a foundation and something else. I just want your opinion on what would look best on me and please if you state that I should try “bases”, “foundations”, “concealers”, (ETC) please give me specific examples. PS I have sensitive skin so please keep that in mind. Also, if you do know what the differences between “bases”, “foundations”, “concealers”, (ETC) is can you please inform me of them?

Well I can help you with describing.
A base, is the very first cream you apply when doing your makeup. Its supposed to help you apply makeup easier. And make it last longer.
Foundations will even out your skin tone
And a concealer, you only apply to areas that you really want to even out. For example, your freckles.
In my opinion though, I think you should show your freckles. I wish I had some. :/
But anyways, if you want to clear some acne, 8 glasses a day keeps acne away. < -- helped me:)

And maybe you should look for makeup that will help you accomplish the look you look for.
Does MAC irritate your skin as well? You should try clinique also.
