Question by Hyped: How to Reduce the oily-ness/pimples in my skin?
Hey, i have quite oily skin. I think its the cause of my Ache because i have used many products and even these pills i got subscribed called Akamin-50 and nothing really worked.
Im going to try reduce my oily-ness before going back to the doctors or a dermatologist any advice on how to reduce this?

- I change my pillow case every week
- I wash my face 2 times a day with “NEUROGENA, Rapid Clear. ‘Oil-Eliminating Foaming Cleanser”
- Moisturize about once a week
- When i go to bed my pimples are gone kinda, then i wake up in the morning to find white pimples about 5-10 of them.
- Also have quite bad Blackheads around my nose and forehead. I have used ‘Biore, deep cleaning pore strips’ once every two weeks. seems to do nothing.

Thanks in advance

it can take up to 3 months when trying a new medication before you’ll see results. i suggest writing down your skin care routine and showing it to your dermatologist. they can work with you to come up with a good plan to follow. Even though you have oily skin (i do as well) you need to moisturize more then once a week. Are you using a toner after you wash your face? you might want to: wash then use a toner and finally moisturize. also make sure you are drinking enough water..staying hydrated works wonder for your skin!
good luck!

Hi i used to be a beauty therapist and think i may be able to help out a little bit. First of all, the products your using i personally wouldnt use. i find supermarket brands are quite harsh and dont really work like they’re ment to. If your pimples are really bad, id suggest proactiv for a couple of months. the only thing with proactiv is that it tends to dry your skin out really bad, and you can only use it for a few months at a time. alternatively, i like dermalogica. you may be paying about $ 80 for a cleaner, but it definatly works. their range has changed a bit since i worked with it, so it may be worth speaking to a beauty therapist who sells it. get samples first as you may find that although some products will work for your friends/family’s skin, it may not work for you. the best thing is to get a complete skin analysis from a professional coz you may even need multiple products (ie you may have heaps of oil on your cheeks & forehead, but may be dehydrated elsewhere or vice versa). you should moisturise everyday with an oil free moisturiser, and also exfoliate and mask twice a week. trust me you will feel the difference after the first 2 weeks of exfoliating and masking. It may even be useful to steam your skin every once in a while to help with the blackheads. If it all gets too hard, just get some professional products, then go for a monthly facial to steam and really deeply exfoliate. Ask about ‘hi frequency’ too. its an electrical machine incorporated in facials for acne skins. it gives like an electrical current over the skin, and they ‘spark’ pimples to dry them out and reduce them. its not as bad as it sounds though.
Sorry about my long winded answer, but i hope that helps a little :-)

you need to moisturize twice aday!
trust me, just because you have oily skin doesnt mean you put less moisturizer on.
your skin can become more oily if it is too dry.
you also need to find a clay mask, they help reduce oil and help clean pores.
look for ingredients in clay mask:kaolin and silica.

Looks like you do quite well!!

BUT

You have to consider these factors

1. Excersize. How much do you do? You need to make your skin sweats things out so it can get rid of all the dirt coz it sounds like you’re just getting rid of all the stuff on the surface.

2. Healthy Foods. What are you eating during the day? Try and eat more fruit/veg and drink HEAPS of water – aaalll the time pretty much.

3. Do you find you’re a stressful person? If you get stressed out regularly you might find that getting out of the house and doing something (like riding a bike/walking, even seein a mate) will reduce your stress levels and get those endorphines going, therefore making you feel happier.

Try looking in to an acne mask – use it after you wash your face at night.
It may help.
For your nose and black heads use a warm compress and gently push your nose nostrils upward.
After you wash your face use toner it helps balance your skin and may help with the oily skin.

Also seems silly but use a shampoo for oily hair.

Oh dear, what do you know?! I just got my acne problems sorted out 4 good and now another acne issue. They just don’t go, do they? Now let’s get serious,Hyperspeed, as I talk to you from experience.
Yes, truth is almost everybody has an oily skin, but the degree of oiliness varies hence the prevalence of acne & its other variants. But, another truth is that not everybody with oily skin gets acne! There are various pre-dispositional factors (diet, stress, environment, drugs) and varying human resistance levels. At the risk of confusing you, let me just go straight to the basics.

First, you will need to watch your DIET henceforth: Avoid all fatties and fried meals. Gosh, I hope you don;t like fried chicken like I do. As they say ”WE ARE WHAT WE EAT” You need to also indulge in a lot of rest (6 – 8 hrs of good sleep for the next 2 mths). All of these combined will reduce drastically the oil in your skin.
In addition, there is a facial that you can use for your acne and it will be gone under 72 hrs. I got if from my source below and it worked, solving my acne issues with a fresher skin. I wish you luck.
