The Greek word katabole is often translated “foundation” in the KJV bible in the new testament.
Example = Ephesians 1:4; ” According as He has chosen us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love:”
Katabole is a Greek word that means “over throw”, “casting down”, “disruption”, and “ruin”.
The bible manuscripts clearly teach a disruption of the world that was. In Genesis 1:2 it says the world “was” without form and void. This word was should have been translated “became”. The word without form and void is “tohu va bohu” in Hebrew. Isaiah 45:18 shows us that this passage in Genesis 1:2 is incorrectly translated in English, as the world was not created “tohu va buhu” (void and without form), rather, it BECAME THAT WAY after the katabole (Satan’s overthrow). God did not create this earth in chaotic form. It became void and without form after the disruption / overthrow caused by Satan’s rebellion. The first earth age was a perfect paradise. This is why woolly mammoths have been found perfectly preserved in north Alaskan tundra with buttercups in their stomach ! Buttercups don’t grow at the poles in this earth age, but they did in the world that was ! At Satan’s rebellion in the first earth age, some scholars feel 1/3 of the angels followed Satan rather that the Lord. Instead of killing 1/3 of HIs children, God killed the 1st earth age and asked all His children to be born into flesh bodies (Genesis 1:26, He was talking to the angels). Moreover, God wouldn’t ask us to do something He wasn’t willing to do Himself. Christ (Immanuel means “God with us”) came to earth, lived perfectly, showed us how to overcome Satan (Matthew 4) and sacrificed His body for our sins !

@ servant A, you seem to be confused, how about documenting where you get some of that stuff from. Some of it I agree, most seems out their and unsubstantiated.
@Biblech (Jim) Dr. E.W. Bullinger who was the only Christian bible scholar allowed to translate the original massoratic texts translates ‘was’ as ‘became’ in his famous scholarly work, ‘ the companion bible ‘. Therefore, although I will not force you to see it my way, I vehemently disagree and find your statement unsubstantiated and in error.

The world was made, not created. This happened far before man was around to invent religion.

Sons of God = Angels or a being above man.
Watchers = Guardian Angels
Giants = The abominable hybrid fusion of humans and the sons of God.
Dinosaur: This new term was created in the 19th Century. The bible predates that word. In archaic terms, those abominations were only described, not given a name. Their creation is a main reason why the Lord hates witchcraft.

[How can Noah & his direct line be “perfect” after reading that verse? Noah and his family did not have lay with the sons of God, nor their hybrids, nor were they the fusion of the two different beings.]
[In summary, it is possible that the giants caused an imbalance in the food chain. Mostly likely the fallen angels augmented the natural animals we have today to sustain the giants. This answers a great deal of questions such as why the Lord hates witchcraft and sorcery.]

Foundation = beginning
The words of Jesus the Christ have answered these questions.
Genesis 1:1-5 is about the 1st earth age which began 196 million years ago, by the woman clothed with the sun. God created this female flesh body and joined the first spirit called man (adam) with it.
He, him, man the spirit became female and male, The female begat other flesh bodies males and females to which God joined together with other spirit call man.
The spirits called man were created by God the Father, the sons of man, the flesh bodies were made, prepared by the female. The spirits left their Father and the sons of man (flesh bodies) left their mothers, and the spirit and the flesh became as one flesh.
When Lucifer returned to heaven God the Father created “Light” which is the manifestation of God the Father’s Truth, and Lucifer ran from God the Father’s truth, and hid in the darkness he had made.
Revelation chapter 12
The “Darkness” was made by Lucifer who made a flesh body for himself, called the great red dragon and ate the living first born dinosaur made by the female.
Genesis 1:6: through 2:4 is speaking of the 2nd earth age, when God the Father recreated the earth that was destroyed by Satan. God once again let the woman bear children but these sons of man where not as the first sons of man where. This age began around 19,6 million years ago.
The Christ also known as LORD God at that time, made the earth in the 3rd earth age, LORD God did not have the power to create, for God the Father is the only one who can create with a word.
LORD God made only a garden and separated this garden from the dominant inhabitants of the 2nd age who live in the land of Nod. After LORD God the Christ made the garden he made a female, a new flesh body that to was called son of man. The Christ breathed the spirit call man into the female flesh body, and it became as one with the son of man, also know as human flesh.
This the same story as told in John 1:10-11, The Christ was the one who made us human.
And the Lord said unto my Lord.
UNDERSTAND who the Christ really is and who we really are.

Here’s what I know: very nearly every appropriately-accredited Bible translator ever to have actually been employed in translating an English Bible has translated the verb in Genesis 1:2 as “was”.
You say that it should be translated “became”.
If you were me, who would you believe to have the more accurate and precise translation?
The New Jerusalem Bible Regular Edition says this:

Now the earth was a formless void, there was darkness over the deep, with a divine wind sweeping over the waters.

Alternatively, ‘ When God began creating heaven and earth, the earth being then a formless void, with darkness over the deep, and a divine wind sweeping over the waters.’ Both translations are grammatically possible: the one we retain here , with all the ancient versions, gives a more coherent reading of the text.
Again: we see that your rendering is not noted among even the possible renderings that the grammar allows.
