As far as moisturizers go, this is my new BFF – on the real. This is the best tinted moisturizer WITH SPF 15 that I have ever used (and I’m no spring chicken! lol). Until recently, the best facial moisturizer on the market could only increase the skin’s moisture content by about 5%. Glycerin is the ingredient that was considered the best moisturizer for face and body. But, now there’s something new.

A company in New Zealand developed a protein-rich formula called Functional Keratin. Clinical studies have shown that creams containing it increase the skin’s moisture content by over 20% after the first use. There are many other good things about this formula, too. I am sure that it is the best facial moisturizer in the world.

Most moisturizers are only temporarily effective. Functional Keratin has a lasting effect. Free radicals become activated in response to a perceived pathogen. Since no pathogen is actually present, they become frenzied and do damage to the skin’s cells and fibers. Free radical damage and chronic inflammation are two of the causes of cellular aging.

So, the best facial moisturizer is one that is free of irritants and allergens, including artificial preservatives and added fragrances. The best moisturizer for face and body is one that contains natural anti-inflammatories. Some of the other important ingredients are antioxidants, which prevent free radical damage.

The best facial moisturizer contains nothing but nutrients, because the skin’s cells are just like all of the other cells of the body. They need nutrients to perform their daily functions and to reproduce.

In a young, healthy, well nourished person, the outermost layer of the epidermis is completely replaced once a month. As we age, this cellular replacement becomes much slower.

Functional Keratin is the best moisturizer for face creams because it stimulates skin cell replacement, by as much as 160% in as little as three days. When it comes to this product, the worse you look, the better the effect that you will see. It takes a little searching to find the best facial moisturizer, but once you do, you’ll be glad you took the time.

Question by AquarianAlias: How do you heal raw sunburn skin?
So I take a proactiv type medicine and yes, stupid, I went to the beach without too much protection. My face is almost purple. The apples of my cheeks are the worst. The rest of my face I can put any type of moisturizer on but what can I put on the raw (bound to peel) parts?

I tried vinegar for the pain, it burned.
I was slopping on aloe (100% without any alcohol) but that just left my skin extremely tight cause it dried like a mask.
Looking at ingredients on pretty much very lotion I see alcohol! ??? Is that bizarre or what? Lotion for “extremely dry skin” or dry skin period, has alcohol! I don’t get it.
Is there a moisturizer that my skin will actually suck in and help it to heal? I am praying I don’t peel, though the probability is slim to none. But are there ways to help at least give me a fighting chance?

Please any help is much appreciated.
Again- here’s what I am already doing:
drinking lots of water, taking ibuprofen or aspirin for pain/and swelling, cold compress (not cold water cause that was drying out my skin. I’m doing a cold pack in a dry towel), and still aloe (but its tightening my poor skin… making the probability of peeling more likely.)
Help!
I have spots that are dark and chafing off. It leaves raw skin. The aloe is burning!! What else can I do! Something that will HEAL, not relieve the pain. Thanks!

Mix bicaronate of soda powder with water to make a paste and put that on your face as a barrier. Helped when I burnt my legs so badly that they blistered.
