Best Foundation For Oily Acne Prone Skin – And Did I Mention Cheap Too?
I have tried a lot of methods to make my skin less shiny, from the home remedies like using apple cider as a toner to medical method like taking birth control pills. Those methods did make my skin look a bit less oily and shiny but the excess oil was still there and it always gave me a dirty feeling and I felt very unconfident sometimes. My skin was also very prone to acne and even though I tried a lot of over-the-counter products, my skin only improved for a short period of time and then those red and inflamed spots appeared again like mushrooms. That’s why I have been very careful with choosing makeup, especially foundations. I always buy those that claim to be “oil free” and normally opt for medium to full coverage. I did find some good foundations which do not break me out and provide a medium and pleasant coverage. As I am saving up for going back to university again, I cannot afford all the expensive and high-end brands like Estee Launder, Shiseido, Lancome so I only go for over-the-counter or medium priced products. Below are the list of the best foundations for oily acne prone skin to me:
Bourjois Happy Light Foundation: Don’t be fooled by the word “light” in the name, it’s actually a medium coverage foundation. This Bourjois foundation in fact covers all of my blemishes. I have mild acne with some tiny red spots on my forehead (the most oily place) and this foundation covers up everything! I don’t even have to use any concealer! Many people claim that this foundation is oily and can only be used on dry skin girls. I totally disagree. It feels nicely on my skin and is very easy to apply and even though my skin looks a bit shiny after around 5 hours, it is still great compared to many other high-end products. I cannot find it in any local store so normally I search and buy it off from eBay or from Strawberrynet.
Everyday Minerals: this is my second holy grail! This is a mineral powder foundation and I normally buy it through their official website. The price is a lot cheaper compared to Bare Minerals. I used before and the coverage is a lot better too. It has never broken me out and always gives me a velvet and smooth finished coverage. I look like I don’t wear any makeup at all using this foundation. However with this foundation, I still have to use some concealer on any bigger and noticeable spot.
Bourjois 10-hours sleep foundation: I love this foundation. I always use it when I don’t need to look flawless. This is more of a tinted moisturizer but still provides quite good coverage. It is very liquid like and easy to spread. However, I don’t recommend it if you live in a very hot and humid area as it can make you look a bit oily after some hours. To make up for that, it gives a very natural coverage and never breaks me out! I normally don’t use any moisturizer, except when the weather is really dry. I don’t use primers also as I had bad experience with it (most of them broke me out). I usually only wear these foundations alone, and settle with Rimmel Stay Matte Powder (I love this pressed powder so much, it doesn’t break me out, controls the oil extremely well and at , it’s a steal!).
So above are the best foundations for an oily acne prone skin gal like me. For anyone with mild to medium acne, the above foundations will cover almost everything. But if you need heavier coverage, maybe you need some more concealer or other kinds of foundation. However, I wouldn’t recommend heavy coverage foundations at all, because they clog your pores a lot more and even result in cystic acne. I had those before and I knew they were such a pain! Now I only have very mild acne after following a very unique method To find out what method I have been using to keep my skin clear and learn valuable makeup tips, please visit my FREE acne-prone skin makeup guide

Why Switch to Using a Mineral Foundation?
Within the last thirty years there has been a noticeable increase in the presence of natural cosmetics within the mainstream makeup industry and with some of the leading drugstore cosmetics companies releasing their own line of mineral makeup products, this trend looks set to continue. When it comes to cosmetics you want the best that you can buy because you are applying it to your skin, sometimes daily. This is particularly true of foundations whose benefits can range from giving you the appearance of an even skin tone to providing you with sun protection and even healing properties. So just what are the benefits that mineral foundation can offer?
From an aesthetic point of view, mineral powder foundation achieves great results. Barefaced Beauty’s foundation provides an even yet natural finish which flatters your face thanks to the light reflective properties of its ingredients. Mineral foundation is also very versatile and the perfect option in the summer months when you want to wear lighter make-up. However, if you want a heavier look you can also achieve this by building layers or wetting the powder with water to create a more liquid-like base. Once you have applied the foundation it lasts for a long time thanks to its waterproof properties and the shade can be adjusted for the changing seasons by mixing different tones. It even has numerous uses. For instance, with a smaller brush you can also use Barefaced Beauty’s mineral foundation as an effective concealer.
Mineral powder foundation does not only make your skin appear good, it actually improves it in the long term. Barefaced Beauty’s foundation contains no parabens, dyes or scents but rather only two main natural ingredients, including zinc oxide which provides a natural SPF to protect your skin from sun damage and therefore prevents aging. It is also not absorbable, meaning that Barefaced Beauty’s mineral foundation is hypoallergenic and does not irritate your skin. It actually does not just prevent further damage but also repairs the harm that has already been done to your skin. Finally, the 10g jars of foundation last a long time even with everyday use.
Barefaced Beauty not only provide great natural products at drugstore prices but are also committed to their ethical values as well. They have a strict no-animal testing policy on their products (as do most mineral cosmetics companies) whilst also ensuring that all their products are sourced and produced in the U.K.

***PLEASE READ!*** At times like these with the devastating events in Japan, it seems so trivial to focus on things like makeup. Many of us live far away from the disaster, but please think of the thousands of people whose lives will be affected for years to come. Those of us who live in comfort and safety cannot fathom what the Japanese people must be going through right now. If you could make even a small donation, or a generous one, to the Japanese Red Cross Society, that would be a wonderful thing to do. Even if you just donate a small amount, what you would otherwise spend on an eyeshadow or a lipstick! Question by ?MW?M? ????: What would you name your baby if…?
BNG!! (((shhh)))
1. You are a single mother through unfortunate circumstances (whatever they may be) and though it’s going to be tough you know you can manage. You find out your having a baby boy, and want to give him a strong name that means- “strength”, “courage”, or “foundation” since your life together is not just new and strong but everlasting! What do you name your son?
2. You and your husband of 10 yrs finally get the call you’ve been waiting 4 yrs to get! A birth mother has chosen you to adopt her baby! It’s a baby girl. You want to honor the birth mother in her gift to you so you give her a name that is similar to her name. What is her birth mother’s name? and What do you name your daughter?
3. You and your husband have 2 children, Adelaide and Markus. You and your husband are pregnant again, AND newly immigrated from German to the United States. You are having twins this time…both girls. You want to stick with traditional German names in sound and spelling. What do you name your twin daughters?
Have fun ![]()
sorry- #2 should read, “you give your new daughter a name that is similar to her birth mother’s name”.
and #3 should say “Germany” instead of German. LOL
Krissy…actually sweetie, i remember when you copy/pasted the box…from ME. it was the night your BFF and i had a bit of a cyber spat.
besides….who cares, you can’t “own” text. there are tons of ppl that have this on their avatar ID
My choices would be-
1. Justin Apollo (Apollo means strength)
2. birth mother- Maria Gabriella. Baby girl- Mariah Abrielle
3. Giselle and Heidi

Answer by ??????? ???????? ???????
1. This totally describes me! I’m a single mommy =] Probably Bentley. It’s a family thing, because my father got a Bentley the day he could afford one. In my family it kind of implies going through something difficult.
2. Yay =] Well my name is Kristina Lynn. So probably Kristen Ellayne.
3. I’m German too
Helen and Mikaela.
Awww you stole the box I have around my name! Not hating, but that’s kinda mean =[
I copied the box from this guy named Ryan (who I asked first) Why’d you take it from me?

How to Select the Proper Powder Based, Natural Makeup & Cosmetics for Acne Prone Skin – Apply Makeup Correctly to Flaunt a Smooth Skin
When it comes to dealing with acne prone skin or very oily skin types, there are certain things that should be taken care of, right from routine skin care to selecting cosmetic items. One should take time in analyzing the beauty products and the ingredients before directly applying them. Failure to do so will lead to outbreaks of unsightly acne and pimple. In short, correct self care tips are imperative to reduce acne or keep them under control. Let’s understand what to look for in what can be considered as the best foundation for acne prone skin.
For existing acne condition, you can use a good foundation as a part of your makeup regimen and hide the skin outbreaks. But, remember that frequent application clogs up the pores and worsens the condition. With so many brands in the market, selecting a good foundation is quite confusing. It becomes more tricky, if you are searching the best foundation for acne prone skin or sensitive skin. Besides being a matching shade for your complexion, it should coat lightly and have a balancing effect on the skin after application.
How to Select the Best Foundation for Acne Prone Skin?
Deciding a foundation for acne prone skin is very difficult. This is because, the sensitivity, texture and overall skin condition vary significantly from one person to another. Hence, a foundation that blends well with your skin may not have the same smoothening effect on your friend’s skin. Considering this, opting for the best foundation is like a trial method that should be be done with care. The thumb rule is to know your actual skin type and opt for a non-comedogenic formulation.
]]>
Some products cause increased dryness or add greasiness to the already oily skin. To prevent such cases, examine the active ingredients in the best foundation for covering acne. A natural, oil free, powder based (or water based), mineral type is ideal to cover acne, while reducing clogging of pores. Another criterion is easy removal of the foundation with a mild soap. In addition to the regular formulation, there are also foundation sticks that are excellent for quick fixing of skin blotches and acne spots.
Professional beauticians prescribe using a superior quality foundation for achieving a glamorous look. It is often suggested to spend more money on buying a good foundation, rather than expending on other cosmetic items. However, it is to be borne in mind that the best foundation recommended for people who are susceptible to acne need not be very pricey. You can opt for inexpensive foundation, provided that it meets your purpose of applying foundation, without exacerbating acne or causing unusual side effects.
At any point of time, do not go by the advertising hypes, which show smooth skin immediately after using the beauty product. Speaking about applying foundation correctly on acne prone skin, it is no different from the usual instructions. In most cases, the directions for using the product are mentioned in the leaflet. Hence, you can refer to the guidelines for getting best results. You can consider applying foundation with a brush if you are used to it. Avoid using harsh soaps or cleansers for removing foundation and also for regular face washing.
So, this was a brief information concerning the best foundation for acne prone skin and applying the same. It is not so easy to get the best brand that suits your skin. But, spending a little effort in examining the product reviews and consumer satisfaction data will help in getting the best acne skin care product. If at all you are confused about buying a good foundation, seeking advice from a beautician is a wise step, rather than using an unknown product with strong chemicals.
